The Placement Process: Getting To Your Study Goals in Canada
Exploring The Opportunity to Study in Canada
Planning to study abroad can elicit both anxiety and excitement. Having chosen Canada as the ideal destination to further your studies, it will be critical for you to appreciate the endeavour you are attempting to undertake in order for you to succeed.
A lot of planning will go into successfully securing your future plans.
Towards this goal, there are two critical things you must achieve at the start and end of your plans:
- You must obtain a letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution.
- You must secure a Study Permit from the respective Canadian mission in your country of residence.
Your success in pulling off these two critical tasks will be achieved by having the right information and with the right planning. With so many competing options to choose from, your first task is to identify your career goals and prospects, and then to find an idyllic academic program that most closely matches them! We work with a diverse range of designated learning institutions (DLIs) to provide both career guidance, eligibility assessments and placements, assisting prospective students to seamlessly undertake the first of these tasks.
The next and more significant task will be to secure a Study Permit. To secure it, you MUST have an acceptance from a DLI. The designated learning institution status accredits those institutions to accept international students, but only at the post-secondary level.
To complete this stage of the process, prospective students must be able to:
- Provide proof acceptance into a DLI;
- Provide proof of their identity;
- Demonstrate proof of financial support; and
- Demonstrate genuine intent to comply with the terms of the Study Permit (even before it is issued to them).
Without meeting some basic thresholds for compliance with these standards, it will difficult to meet your objectives.
Our goal is to ensure that you can attain your dreams. We provide a bouquet service, working with students from end-to-end of the university placement which includes career guidance all the way through to submission of applications. Our counsellors are on hand to help with university and study permit applications, ensuring that you don’t miss a beat along the way, and helping to strengthen applicants prospects for success. And we have 15+ years to back this up with strong referrals. Our counsellors will help you apply to any DLI, including those that you designate in Canada.
Come meet with us, let’s work together to make it happen for you!

Immigration Levels Plan For 2020-2022: Why Canada’s Immigration Policy Is Unlikely To Change Post-COVID-19
In the last week of April 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada released details on the Government of Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2020-2022 via an amended notice giving supplementary information on the plan even as the COVID-19 pandemic continued its onslaught on the global economy. What can we look forward to?
So, will Canada’s immigration policy and stance change post-COVID 19?
Throughout its rich history, Canada has been an open country. It has one of the highest rates of admission of immigrants in the world, despite the current global challenges around immigration management. Canada also has one of the best integration programs for immigrants in the world.
The Canadian immigration system is a complex labyrinth of over several categories of programs, permits and visas, each with its own unique criteria, requirements. These different programs and permits are unique and without a clear understanding of each, it can be a daunting task trying to figure which ones you actually qualify for or is a good fit with your immediate goals.
COVID-19 has caused the biggest disruption to life as we knew! As the virus continues to wreak havoc on the international economy, governments the world over are taking measures to contain its spread. The big question we’re seeing come is “What will the long term effect of the pandemic be on the Canadian government’s policy towards immigration?”
The Canadian education system is ranked among the best in the world, offering affordable, world-class education within a highly-dynamic, multicultural environment. In 2019, Canada ranked 3rd just behind US and Australia as the preferred destination for international students recording over 400,000 international student admissions in one year! Here are 7 Good Reasons To Study in Canada.
Canadian Immigration processing fees for permanent residence applications are set to go up effective from April 30, 2020. For some categories of applications, the fees are set to go up by 50% or more. The increments, the first of their kind since 2002, are attributed to inflationary adjustments in the cost of service delivery to newcomers into the country.
In 2019, almost 61% of all permanent residents admitted to Canada came from only 10 countries.
Notably, from the African continent, Nigeria and Eritrea featured prominently, contributing 12,595 and 7025 immigrants into Canada respectively, and occupying the fourth and eighth positions in the rank of the numbers of immigrants by source country.
